~Barking Bird Farm is a pesticide free property. We maintain our grounds with goat Power! Rotational grazing keeps our weeds to a minimum. Any other weeds we burn and or pick by hand.
~All Grass Products fed to our animals are produced in a 50 mile radius to our farm. We really believe in supporting our other local farmers!
~All of our food scraps here are composted for our garden, or re-fed to our pigs. It really helps cut down the waste we produce. In the future we hope to upscale our composting for local restaurants so we can be 100% compost run. Right now we use a mix of Sheep/goat/Chicken and Cow manure on our field.
~Have you seen how we wrap our soaps in craft paper? Do you know that’s all recycled from packaging we receive when we order oil and other supplies? We have 90% rate of the renewable resource of paper used in our packaging. Even if you receive plastic packaging in your order, it is something we have received from other companies. You can pass it on when you ship something!
